Activated Alumina

•  Type D, Grade A, F200

•  Bead Size 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" - Spherical shape

•  93 % Al 2 O 3

•  Seen as an excellent all-purpose desiccant for drying air as well as other gases

•  Used in both heated and heatless dryers

•  1/8" bead is most frequently used in regenerative dryers while other sizes are often used as a pre-bed for Silica Gel

•  Packaging typically 50lbs.; also 5, 110 & 2000 lbs.

Molecular Sieve

•  Type Z, Grade 4A, 5A and 13x

•  Bead size 4 x 8 mesh, 8 x 12 mesh with "mesh" being granular or varying

•  Pore size - 4A - 4 angstrom, 5A -5 angstrom, 13X - 10 angstrom

•  Plastics uses primarily 4A and 13X

•  4A also used in natural gas, LPG, air, inert gases, fluids

•  "Moisture - Indicating" molecular sieve is available

•  Packaging - 5, 25, 55, 110, 275 lbs.

Silica Gel

•  Type E, Grade 8

•  Various sizes of beaded and granular (mesh)

•  Pore size - 22 angstrom

•  Used especially in dehydration of natural gas and compressed air

•  Colored white, white/blue (a 7% indicator mix), blue

•  A combination of Silica and Alumina

•  Meets Mil Spec MIL-D-3716 Type 1, Grade H
